Ben’s baseball career consisted of 4 years of college and 8 seasons in the professional ranks.
- Played 2 years at Des Moines Area Community College in Boone Iowa. Graduated with a Business Diploma and hit .406 in sophomore season. Then went to Iowa State University. Hit over .300 both seasons and graduated with a Marketing Degree in 2000.
- Signed first pro contract in Frontier League in 2001. In 2004 while playing in Northern League, signed by Milwaukee Brewers to minor league contract. Spent 2 seasons in Brewers Organization, hit .325 in High A, and .270 in AA.
- Returned to Independent Professional ball in 2006, back to Northern League. Spent final 2 pro seasons in American Association.
- Overall, played in 4 different Independent Pro Leagues and was an all-star in all 4 leagues. Over 8 professional season finished with a career batting average of .316.
- Was also a member of Canadian National team in 2005, and 2006. Played in World Cup in Amsterdam in 2005, hitting .400 in the tournament. Also participated in Pre-Olympic Qualifier in Phoenix in 2005, and Olympic Qualifier in Cuba in 2006.
- Played for Regina Red Sox in 2009 batting .338. Currently playing for 3x League Champion Regina Capitals of Qu’Appelle Valley Baseball League. MVP of league in 2011.
- Has been lead hitting instructor at Inside Pitch Baseball Academy for the past 6 off-season training programs
